NPC signs agreement with U.S. Army Recruiting Command

The U.S. Army Recruiting Command welcomes NPC, Inc., as the newest corporate partner to join the Army's national Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program in a ceremony at NPC's Claysburg, Pa., facility on May 5, 2008.

NPC CEO Mark Barnhart signed a partnership agreement with Brigadier Gen. William Waff, Deputy Commanding General of the 99th U.S. Army Reserve Readiness Command and Lt. Col. Michael Matthews, commander of the Harrisburg Army Recruiting Battalion, which serves Pennsylvania.

"I think they deserve it. For their commitment, their sacrifice and the investment that they've made in serving our country ... we're more than privileged to be part of something like this," said Mark Barnhart following the agreement signing.

The PaYS program is a strategic partnership between the Army and a cross-section of U.S. corporations and public sector agencies. The program was developed to help the Army attract, train and deploy talented young people who want to serve their country, but also want to help secure their future success once their Army service is complete. Employers that sign as corporate partners in PaYS agree to consider appropriately qualified soldiers leaving Army service for positions at those companies.

Under terms of the agreement between the U.S. Army Recruiting Command and its PaYS partners, enlistees interested in gaining specific job training and qualifications will receive that training while in the U.S. Army. Participation by the company, soldier and Army is secured with an agreement that gives the soldier priority consideration in the employment process. However, the company reserves the right to determine whether to ultimately hire the PaYS soldier. For more information, visit www.armypays.com.

NPC Becomes Member of Two Document Security Groups

NPC recently became a member of two recognized groups dedicated to improving security around documents, the North American Security Products Organization (NASPO) and the Document Security Alliance. The Company has been providing security around its electronic and printed document services for several years. By joining these recognized groups, it is furthering its commitment to better serve the security needs of its customers.

Many of NPC's customers have required heightened levels of security to protect both the data going into printed documents and the completed documents. NPC has implemented equipment and procedures to ensure that the content and final documents are not compromised. In addition to its three levels of security already in place, NPC is evaluating the expansion of its offer to meet the changing needs of customers.

NASPO is a security standards organization. Based in West Vancouver, British Columbia, with a legal office in Washington, D.C., its mission is to safeguard technologies and ensure credibility to the graphic security products industry. NASPO provides structure to the industry that clearly defines those organizations that have established a certified level of security. NASPO was formed in 2001.

The Document Security Alliance was formed in 2001 by a group of business leaders who wanted to share experiences with fraud or other issues of misuse of documents and cards. It has continued as a resource for the leaders in government, associations, manufacturers, security professionals, and other related businesses. It collects the information and works to develop solutions to document security issues, then provides those solutions in the form of recommendations, white papers, and/or technical papers to be utilized as those organizations deem appropriate.
