Data Breach Incident and Crisis Communication Planning and Set-up

The InfoLaunch™ team will work in conjunction with your security and business continuity planning teams to establish your structured communication response to notify impacted parties in the event of a data breach or other crisis. This service includes:

  • Review of states in which your business is subject to notification statute
  • Storage of client sample notification letter formats
  • Assist client in the determination of parties authorized to declare an event / sign letters
  • Establishment of responsible client team members and contact protocols
  • Establishment of communication procedures to follow in event of data breach or crisis
  • Establishment of file transfer protocol to be followed to enable notifications
  • Conduct of mock notification printing and mailing test (not to exceed 100 pieces)
  • Suggest revisions to crisis communication plan as necessary

Provisioning of Production Capacity

As a result of our substantial production and mailing capacity, the InfoLaunch™ team is able to enter into agreements with the customer to guarantee predetermined production quantities and time frames for a data breach or other crisis communication printing and mailing.

Breach Declaration and Notification Production Services

The InfoLaunch™ team is able to make available to the customer a wide variety of breach declaration and notification production options to suit the needs of the organization. Upon the formal declaration of a breach or other crisis event, the InfoLaunch™ team initiates the notification process, produces the required written notification documents, prepares them for mailing from our secured facility, mails the documents within the agreed upon timeframe, follows up the status of any undeliverable items, and reports status back to management.

Periodic Testing

The InfoLaunch™ team will assist the customer in the establishment of a change management policy and procedure to follow to keep the data breach notification plan current, and to conduct periodic testing of the details of the program to ensure the plan remains workable. A wide variety of testing allowances are available to the client for selection of the proper frequency needed to meet customer requirements.

The Letter of the Law: Data Breach Notification Statutes Expose Gap in Incident Response Plans

Tom Schwartz, President of Immersion, Ltd., co-authored an article with Thomas J. Kristofco, president of Business Continuity Concepts, that appeared in the November/Decmeber edition of Continuity Insights magazine.

The article, entitled "The Letter of the Law: Data Breach Notification Statutes Expose Gap in Incident Response Plans" focuses on data breach incident response plans and the legan ramifications surrounding these breaches.
