For Dana Avvampato, the journey at NPC began with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives. “I studied and started my career in Human Resources because I am passionate about people and making their lives better,” Dana shares. This drive for impact led her to NPC, where she found an organization that truly aligned with her values.
Dana joined NPC three years ago as the HR Manager, bringing experience from other industries but diving into new territory. “I had never worked for a private organization or in manufacturing before,” she recalls. “It was refreshing to find that at NPC, everyone chips in to help, no matter how basic the questions might be.”
In her role, Dana touches on most aspects of HR, including benefits, employee relations, compensation, talent management, continuous improvement initiatives, employee engagement, community outreach, and onboarding.
At NPC, Dana discovered something profound about herself: “I love feeling like I can actually make a difference in people’s lives and at the company. Through job offers, new benefits, and various initiatives, I realized I wasn’t making this kind of impact before, and I didn’t even know what I was missing until I worked here.”
This realization aligns perfectly with NPC’s mission to provide opportunities and make a meaningful impact. Dana’s growth at NPC has been a journey of continuous learning and increasing contribution. “Fast forward three years, and I feel like I’m still learning every day, but now I’m contributing to the HR team’s success in hiring new talent, solving challenges and making improvements in our employees’ lives.”
For Dana, success at NPC is about more than personal achievement—it’s about creating positive change. “What excites me is that I haven’t seen it all at NPC yet, and that’s thrilling. My job will never be one where I get bored because of the constant changes and growth happening here.”
She embraces the challenges with NPC’s expansion, seeing them as opportunities for personal and professional growth. “New challenges excite me, which I’ll continue to see at NPC. Rolling my sleeves up, getting in and figuring things out—that’s how I handle things, and it’s definitely how NPC operates, too.”
Dana appreciates how NPC supports her in balancing her professional aspirations with her personal life. As a mother of two young sons and an active church community member, she values the flexibility and understanding that NPC provides. “I enjoy spending time with my husband, Chris, our sons Grant and Brooks, and our pup. We’re active in our church, enjoy camping, traveling and taking on house projects.”
Dana’s leadership style aligns perfectly with NPC’s culture of empowerment and collaboration. “I believe in empowering my team to figure things out and solve problems themselves,” she explains. “It’s about being a servant leader and creating a collaborative environment where everyone is a subject matter expert in their area.”
This approach resonates with NPC’s structure, where team members are trusted to make good decisions and elevate issues as needed. “I never see myself as being above any task. If someone’s behind on their job and boxes need packing, I’ll jump in and help. It’s a very collaborative team environment, and that’s what I love and want to foster.”
When asked why she enjoys working at NPC, Dana doesn’t hesitate:
Dana sums it up perfectly: “At NPC, I’m not just a paper pusher. I’m empowered to make decisions and suggestions for improvements that genuinely enhance people’s lives. That’s why working in human resources at NPC is better than many other places—it aligns perfectly with why I got into this field in the first place.”
As Dana looks to the future, her excitement is palpable. “There’s still so much to see and do at NPC. The challenges keep coming as we grow and expand, making every day here fulfilling. I’m proud to be a part of NPC’s continued growth and make a real difference in people’s lives along the way.”
